About us
Gray’s Signature Builds is a family-run building contractor based in Washington, working across Tyne and Wear and the wider North East. We take on domestic and commercial work from single rooms to full home renovations, and we run every job on one principle: build it the way we’d want our own home built.
Most people have either had a bad building experience or know someone who has: the price that crept, the programme that slipped, the trades who stopped answering the phone. We built the business to be the opposite of that. Properly priced, properly programmed, properly communicated, properly finished, and backed by a ten-year workmanship guarantee.
You deal with the same people from the first quote to the final sign-off. We’d rather turn work away than take on more than we can finish to the standard our name goes on.
Three divisions, one team
The core of what we do: extensions, loft and garage conversions, kitchens, bathrooms and full home renovations. Proper foundations, Building Control from the start, and a junction between old and new that does not crack in three years.
Re-roofs, repairs, flat roofing and leadwork. The part of the house that has to be right before anything else matters, done by people who do it every week.
Driveways, patios, walls and garden works. Paving fails because of what is underneath it, so the sub-base and drainage are where the care goes, not just the blocks on top.
