Privacy notice
This notice explains what information Gray’s Signature Builds collects when you contact us or use this website, why we hold it, and the rights you have over it.
Who we are

The information we collect
We only collect what we need to answer you and carry out work you ask us to:
- What you send us. When you complete the enquiry form or email or call us, we collect the details you give us: your name, phone number, email address, postcode if you provide it, and anything you tell us about your project.
- Technical information. Our contact form sits behind a small service on our own server. To keep it secure and to prevent spam, that service briefly records the network address a submission comes from. This is used for security only and is not linked to marketing.
- Website measurement. This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. Where we measure how the site is used, we use a privacy-focused, cookieless tool that counts visits in aggregate and does not identify you or follow you across other websites.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
We use your details to respond to your enquiry, to provide quotes and advice, and to carry out and manage any work you go on to book. Under UK data protection law our lawful bases are: taking steps at your request before entering a contract and performing that contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and keeping our systems secure. Where the law requires it, for example to meet our tax and accounting duties, we rely on our legal obligations.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing. We use trusted providers to run our email and our website, and we keep enquiry details in our own customer records so we can manage your job. These providers only process your information on our instructions. We may share information where the law requires us to.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details for as long as we need them to respond to you. Where an enquiry leads to work, we keep the relevant records for the duration of that work and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet our legal, insurance and tax obligations. When we no longer need information, we delete it.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct anything that is wrong;
- ask us to delete it, where there is no reason for us to keep it;
- ask us to restrict or object to how we use it;
- ask us to transfer it to you or another provider, where that applies.

Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK regulator, at ico.org.uk.
